What difficulties do I face in writing assignment 2?

One of the difficulties which I had faced in writing assignment 2 is unable to express what I wanted to said in my writing. For example, I wanted to say CCS technology is an expensive technology and building it require a lot of money to build it; therefore most developing countries are unable to afford to build such technology due to the high cost. Instead of coming to this point I keep beating around the bush till people is very confuse about what I am trying to express in the essay. Furthermore because I cannot express properly I will end up writing in broken English, or incomplete sentence which make my statement has no meaning in it. Due to that I make a lot of language mistake and grammar mistake in the sentence which I written. By reading more English books will help to improve on my English and by writing more essays will be able to improve on my confidence in writing in English. Another mistake which I will always make when writing an essay is the tense. Because in the past when we I was in secondary school most of the time when I write mine essay, my teacher will always tell me to use past tense as most of the thing that I am going to mention in the essay is a past event. Because I do not know when to use the right tenses so the only safe way is to use past tense all the way. By doing so tenses mistake will be greatly reduce in the essay. The solution to solve such problem is to do more tenses exercise to make myself aware when to use the correct tenses. Hope that before examination of EG1471 I have already greatly improved on the difficulties which I had faced.

The 14 Grand Challenges awaits for engineering solution

There are 14 grand challenges face by the engineer in today society. One of the challenges is to make solar energy affordable so that they can use to reduce the usage of fossils fuel. Because emit of carbon dioxide will cause climate to change. The second challenges is to provide energy from fusion so that to sustain a controlled fusion reaction for commercial power generation. The third challenge is to develop carbon sequestration methods to capture and store carbon dioxide which emits from the burning of fossil fuel. The fourth challenge is to manage the nitrogen cycle to reduce the pollution which causes by fertilizer use, internal combustion and other activities. The fifth challenge is to provide access to clean water to meet the demand in the usage of clean water in today society. The sixth challenges restore and improve urban infrastructure so that they could still retain the aging building. The seventh challenges must be able to identify the specific factors behind wellness and illness through personalized medicine. The eight challenges are to find new treatments for age-old scourge and newly emerging disease. The ninth challenges is to find the function of the brain so that to advance the field of artificial intelligence. The tenth challenge is to prevent threats from agents who are bent upon brining ruin to industrial society. The eleventh challenge is to protect information in the computer from viruses and other threats without bogging down the flow of the data. The twelve challenges are to use computer technology to create imaginative environments for education and entertainment. The thirteen challenges are to allow education to be done by using computer. The last challenges is to improve on the exploring the frontiers of life, the atom and the cosmos.

The common gammer mistake which i had make in my pervious essay.

The common gammer mistake which i had made in the pervious essay was the usage of tenses at the wrong time. For example, in the essay i wrote " in the past, bread was hand made." Instead of written it as "was hand made", i wrote as "is hand made." I need to take note of the tenses which i have used in the essay. Espically words that has a present tense, past tense, past perfect tense and future tense. There are also words which has a different reading when they are read in the present tense, past tense, past perfect tense and future tense yet their spelling is the same in the four tenses mention above. For example, word like read has the same spelling in the four tenses. Therefore in order not to make the same mistake again, before i even start writing an essay, i need to know whether my essay is talking about an event that has already been taken place or is it happening now. If the event that has already been taken place, most likely words which has a past tense will be use in the essay. If the event that is going to happen now, then most likely the tenses that i will be using in the essay will be present tense. For past perfect tense it will be use in the event which has already taken place before another time in the past. Lastly future tense is use to talk about event that is going to happen in the future. After going through the tenses one last thing which i needed to is to read my essay again to check whether the tenses i had used in the essay are correct to prevent myself from making the same mistake again. The ability to spot the mistake which i had made and correct it will help me to improve on the usage of tenses.

The Greatest Challenges engineer is facing in today society.

There a few greatest challenges that engineer is currently facing in today society. I am going to look at the formidable political obstacles. Some engineers do have great idea, but due to not enough funding from government sector, engineer is unable to fabricate their project.

For example, back then when i was in republic polytechnic, I had to design a bessel filter for my final year project. Because the design involve high frequency therefore the filter was design using lumped component. Lumped components consist of many brands from different companies. During the project we discovered that the component from coilcraft is able to meet the specification for our final year project.

Coilcraft components not only have the best specification compare with the other brand components , but also is the most expensive as compare with other brand of components. But by using other brand components we not only unable to meet the specification and the Q - factor is not as good as coilcraft.

During the project this was one of main problem. As each of the final year project we were given certain amount of money, but the amount of money is unable to buy the components from coilcraft. There is also quiet a number of coilcraft components needed for our project. We need to prepare extra component, so that during the process of soldering the components onto the PCB when we accidentally damage the component we can replace with a new ones.

Due to the funding problem that we have faced we were unable to proceed with the design. In order to solve the problem that we were facing our group decided to look for companies to help us to provide with the components for our design. We need to look for companies that are currently interested in our design. After a long search we finally found a company which is willing to provide us the components. We are are able to proceed with our design as well as hand up our final year project product.

Above are one of the example that I was facing back then when i doing my final year project on the third year of my polytechinc. As compare to the society engineer need more fund as compare with mine. In conculsion engineer not only have to solve the funding problem as well as they also need to tell people that their design can be used in many area so that the government will provide fund for their design.
